Visiting Klipkop and Marinatha

We drove to the new Klipkop center in the morning and toured the building, grounds, and garden. The new communion table – a gift from North Point – was in place. Pastor Mike was there, and a number of people from the congregation welcomed us.

While Wendel and Kelly went to the airport to pick up her brother, Don; Pastor Mike drove Gail and Paul to Marinatha. We were greeted at the gate by a large group of singers, and upon entering the hall alongside the sanctuary we learned that a sizable celebration was planned.

Etelang Pele Community Services, which has offices in the Marinatha hall and plans to rent office space at Klipkop, led a program that included prayer, speeches, and entertainment. With the event underway, the excitement of the participants rose when Wendel, Kelly, and Don arrived.

Following the program, we had lunch. Then Gail, Don, and Paul assisted in the feeding of hundreds of local children in an after school program.

On the way back to our lodgings we stopped at Pastor Mike’s home and spent time with him and Welma, whose health is much improved. We were happy to hear that during the previous week she learned that she has been awarded the school principal position that she had been pursuing.
