I have some very encouraging news about Second Table Ministries’ project in Aliwal North, South Africa. Our partner and Champion, Pastor Bradley, has made real progress in getting his community involved in Emmanuel Educare.

An important component of Bradley’s success has been his efforts to raise the skill and training of teachers and administrative staff. Community leaders have begun to recognize the difference this commitment to excellence has made in the lives the 215 children enrolled in In-center and Home-based classes.

An exciting breakthrough happened just last week. The newly formed Aliwal North Rotary Club invited Pastor Bradley to talk about his ECD center. The members were so impressed with Brad’s passion and commitment that they nominated him to become a full-fledged member right then and there. This just doesn’t happen, but it did! Not only that, but the Rotary Club has already expressed their willingness to support Pastor Bradley’s efforts in the future.

But wait, there’s more. Bradley was then invited to a breakfast the next morning to meet a representative of JAM International, a non-profit organization that provides food supplies to support the nutritional needs of impoverished communities. When Brad shared what he was doing, the JAM rep was quite impressed and wanted to help.

Long story short, JAM International only funnels their support through a Rotary Club that identifies worthy projects. Well, you guessed it, the Aliwal North Rotary Club has agreed to sponsor Pastor Bradley’s project. While JAM’s involvement does not solve the problem, when combined with your support, it does help
fill all those hungry tummies, if even just for a few hours.

Now, none of this would have happened if you hadn’t supported Bradley in the first place. But the work is not over, and the need is not met. There’s still much to do. Just know that when you support Second Table Ministries you support Pastor Bradley and other Champions like him.

Thanks for all you’ve done, and all you’re yet to do,  Joel
